Paravang Festivities 2024Early August
Around the Paravang, the windbreak at the harbour, the Paravang festivities are celebrated every year, when fishing folklore takes centre stage. The harbour area is then bathed in an authentic maritime atmosphere and provides the cosy backdrop for fishing traditions and folklore all day long.
In the shadow of the monument, there will be continuous demonstrations of old crafts and folk games, performances by folk dance groups and the singing of sea shanties from all over the world. Tasting a freshly baked fish and learning to peel shrimps? Check!
In addition to the Havenfeesten in spring, the Paravangfeesten are a time when Blankenberge highlights its fishing past. The windbreak dates back to 1908 and is one of the seaside town's calling cards.
